Donald James Andersen (Uncle Don), 84, of Stites, Idaho, passed away on June 1st, 2022 in Kooskia, Idaho. Uncle Don was born in St. Peter, Minnesota to Deloy Andersen and Julia Mae Weber on November 29, 1938. \n\nUncle Don joined the Eleventh Naval District and served 2 years in the U.S.S. AJAX and was honorably discharged in 1956. Uncle Don was a master of all trades and had many adventures around the world until the1980’s. After visiting many different\nstates Uncle Don fell in love with Idaho and its changing seasons which led him to finding a place to call home in the Big Cedar area near Kooskia, Idaho until the early 1990’s where he\nfinally settled in at Stites, Idaho. \n\nThe Clearwater Valley captivated Uncle Don, where he found\nThe Highwaymen and became part of their brotherhood taking on many more adventures traveling the U.S.A. and every year he participating in the Toys For Tots run with The\nHighwaymen, Uncle Don loved to tell his loved ones of these adventures he had with The Highwaymen. \n\nUncle Don married Tina Foster in May of 2007 in Cottonwood, Idaho where his love for traveling continued with Tina, teaching her how to ride a Harley Davidson and going on\nmany adventures in the Pacific Northwest with their Harleys.\n\nHe worked as an engineer in construction for Peter Kiwiet for 35 years until he retired in 1991. Uncle Don lived a life full of\nadventure and loved to spend time with the ones he loved the most whether it was sitting around the living room telling stories or hitting the road for another trip you knew you’d always be in good company with Uncle Don.\n\nUncle Don is preceded in death by his Mother, Father, Step Daughter, Son In-law, Grandson, and Brothers of The Highwaymen. Uncle Don is survived by his loving wife Tina Andersen: Step-Children Joe and Tanya Jacks: Lennie and Jeb Bentz; Katie and Dan Zimmerman; Bailey and\nJohny Schuster; Clayton and Kelsea Foster. Grandchildren: Shelbie Miller, Mattie Bentz, Tori Miller, Kassi Miller, Gracie Schuster, Cash Miller, Evalie Schuster, Brynlee Zimmerman,\nTrampas Bentz, Andelyn Zimmerman, Gavin Schuster, and Kynlee Foster.\n\nPallbearers will be Jeb Bentz, Dan Zimmerman, Johny Schuster, Clayton Foster, and honorary Highwaymen.
