Tamara Ragains

Tamara (Tammy) Kay Ragains, 60, of Kamiah, ID, was welcomed into God's arms on August 21st, 2018, at Deaconess Hospital in Spokane, surrounded by her family and friends. She was the beloved wife of Terry Ragains, with whom she shared 27 years of marriage, and the loving mother of Danny, Lisa, and Breeana.

Tammy was born, October 14th, 1957 to Jan Fallwell and the late Earl Bartron. She spent her young life in Nyssa Oregon, she eventually moved to Kamiah where she attended Kamiah High school. During school Tammy devoted all of her extra time to raising her nephew Ira whom she loved like her own child.

When Tammy formed a bond, it was lifelong, Tammy and her best friend Debbie Hightower were inseparable as children and into their adult lives. They shared a bond as best friends that is so rare that they couldn't imagine life without the other, in fact they fought about who had to leave this earth first.

After high school, Tammy married Joe Schoening with whom she had two children, Lisa and Danny, her pride and joy. Though Joe and Tammy's marriage ended, they remained friends and enjoyed sharing an active role in the lives of their children and grandchildren.

Tammy met the love of her life, Terry Ragains, in 1988 and they knew immediately that they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together. They were married in their home in Kamiah on February 23, 1991, to the marriage, Terry brought his daughter Breeana, their family was completed with their love and three children.

Tammy and Terry made their home and life in Kamiah. Tammy had a knack for taking care of people, not only did she raise her three children, she helped raise many kids that considered her a mom, aunt or grandma. No one turned down a meal from Tammy, you ate what she cooked whether you were hungry or not. Everyone who knew Tammy knew what an amazing cook she was, her cinnamon rolls were renowned. Tammy always had warm bed, a cold drink, and a huge hug for everyone. She never did understand the words "I'm full" her laughter, kindness, zeal for life, and cinnamon rolls brought everyone together.

Everything that Tammy had her hand in, she succeeded at. She ran Kamiah Properties as an accomplished Realtor and Broker; in addition to the real estate business, she and Terry owned and operated King's Thrones and built a successful business together. You didn't mess with Tammy when it came to business, and she'd be sure you knew that from the start! Through these businesses, Tammy met many people that become lifelong friends.

Tammy believed life was meant to be lived and she was always up for a little adventure, if there was an interesting detour, good food, great wine or interesting company to be found along the way, all the better. She loved spending time in Dixie, at the ocean and in her garden. There was nothing more important to Tammy than her family, and she especially enjoyed doting on her cherished children and grandchildren. A devoted wife, loving mother and proud grandmother, she will always be remembered as the true heart of her family who kept everyone centered.

Tammy is preceded in death by her Father, Earl Bartron and brother David Fallwell.

Tammy is survived by her loving husband Terry Ragains of Kamiah, ID, daughter, Lisa Weddle (Dustan) of Kamiah, ID, son Danny Schoening (Amber) of Kamiah, ID, daughter Breeana Reiner (Mark) of Lewiston, ID, mother, Jan Fallwell (Mike) of Kamiah, ID, sister Candy Bartron of Minnesota, sister in Law Heather Falwell of Pierce, ID, sister in Law Vickie Jackson (Guy) of Upton, WY, nephew Ira Lawless (Lori) of Palmer, AK, grandchildren Tanner, Connor, Teagan, Ashlyn, Gavin, Audrina and Nolan, her nieces and nephews, Kaylee, Kylie, Austin, Nash and a large, loving extended family and dear friends.

Public viewing will Saturday August 25th from 9-10am at the Presbyterian Church in Kamiah, ID, burial immediately following at the Kamiah Cemetery. Celebration of life will be at the Kamiah High School at noon followed by a covered dish potluck at the Legion Hall at 2pm, contact DawnMarie Johnson at for details regarding potluck 208-507-1238.

In lieu of gifts the family asks that donations be made to the memorial scholarship in Tammy's name at Freedom Northwest Credit Union.
