Shirley Jean Weddle, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2024, at her home with family by her side.

Shirley was born Aug. 19, 1947, in Colfax to Don and Aletha Rogers. Shirley grew up in the Clearwater Valley with her three sisters: Donna Knight, Ruth Anderson and Julia Ayers.

Shirley married Jesse Weddle Sept 3, 1965, they had three children: Shannon Snyder, Jesse "Sonny" Weddle Jr. and Sheryl Schilling. They lived in Weippe for several years in their early marriage, but settled in Kamiah to raise their children. They later divorced.

Shirley was a city clerk for the City of Kamiah for many years, she also worked as a waitress, a bookkeeper and a sales clerk for Sears and Roebuck.

She was an avid seamstress, she often made clothes for the children as well as fancy pearl snap shirts for Jesse and many others. When she reached retirement age, she loved to babysit her grandchildren as well as crocheting, knitting and planting flowers. She loved to fish, go on boat rides and go camping in her earlier years.

She is survived by her sisters Julia Ayers and Ruth Anderson; children Shannon Snyder, Sonny Weddle and Sheryl Schilling (Steve); grandchildren Jessica Stephenson, Megan Stephenson, Madison Coe, Wade Schilling, Carson Schilling, Dalton Snyder and Tanley Snyder.
