Sandra Kay (Shepherd) Peterson, age 64, passed away peacefully on January 26th, 2022, in her home in Kamiah, ID surrounded by her family and loved ones.
According to her desires Sandra requested no services, her biggest wish was for people not to be sad, but instead share memories. Sandra was born to Franklin D. Shepherd and Mary Louise (Pope) Shepherd on June 14th, 1957, in Lima, Ohio. She graduated from Harden Northern High School in Dola, Ohio in 1975.
She was a great friend to all, she knew how to make people laugh. Sandra will always be known for her big heart, how smart she was, and her love of writing. Goofing off with her sisters and friends, watching self-sufficient videos or reading books on "How to Live Off the Land" and Do It Yourself material, Sandra knew how to have fun. Her daughters enjoyed and will miss watching "Queen", Rick Astley and many others with her, no matter how many times we'd watch the same videos, she would always be excited and sing along.
She was a natural caregiver, and was a CNA for 20+ years. She lived with her husband Gregory briefly in California, and Minnesota until finally settling into the valley of Kamiah and Kooskia, Idaho. She was a homemaker full time wife, mother, and grandmother. My dad, Gregory, describes her cooking and baking as world-class. She made a lot of her baking and cooking from scratch, and people that tasted it, said it was incredibly delicious. She loved camping, fishing, swimming and was in love with her husband Greg. She was the best mother and will be missed immensely. She always had good advice, and believed in God, the Holy Spirit and Jesus Christ.
Sandra enjoyed her family and her grandchildren. She loved them so much and would do so much for them! She loved listening to "Queen" mainly Freddie Mercury. She always had dreams of being self -sufficient; i.e. living off the land and off the grid. She was an amazing gardener, had a green thumb and the know how to grow anything. She had a great sense of humor that won't be forgot.
She is preceded in death by her parents Franklin Delano Shepherd and Mary Lousie Shepherd; and her daughter Jenna Louis-Louise Peterson.
She is survived by her husband Greg Alan Peterson, her daughter Sarkisian Gill Peterson, her son Nakia Alen Peterson, her daughter Megan Yvonne Jackson Peterson, her brothers Rick Shepherd, Ken Shepherd, and sisters Shirley Jensen, Anne Jensen and grandchildren Timmothy Franklin Lee, Sterling Alexander Lee, Tristin Athoney Lee, Syrell Spencer Lee, Isabella Sarkisian Peterson, Iyonce Ray Peterson, Isis Alysi Peterson, Jacey Allen Lycan, Riley Dean Lycan, Breeona Sue Marii, Jenna Bell Yvonne Peterson, EJ Cooper Eagel Man Farris, and Chloie Rose Marie Peterson, Madeline Lilly Grace Peterson, Calisse Evelyn Key Peterson, and great-granddaughter Senceamillia May Lee.
