Patricia Rencehausen

June 23, 1941 — September 7, 2022

Patricia May (Millward) Rencehausen, aged 81, of Lewiston, ID, entered into eternal rest with her

Heavenly Father September 7, 2022.

Pat was born June 23, 1941 in Honolulu, Hawaii to Blaine and Dorothy Millward. Pat’s father was in the

Navy and stationed at Pearl Harbor at the time of her birth. Pat was six months old when Pearl Harbor

was attacked. Pat’s mother put cotton balls in Pat’s ears and placed her in a dresser drawer to protect

Pat as much as possible from injury, as well as the noise of the bombs and guns.

During her father’s career in the Navy, Pat lived in many places such a Guam, Florida, California and the

Washington D.C. area. Pat’s parents divorced and Pat’s mother remarried and subsequently lived in the

Glenwood area where Pat attended the one-room school house there. Pat’s mother and step father

eventually relocated to Orofino where Pat attended High School and graduated from Orofino High

School.

After high school, Pat worked at the Orofino newspaper office for a short duration then married Dwaine

Wilfong. They had a son, Preston (Rencehausen) Wilfong. After Pat’s divorce from Dwaine, Pat married

Harold Rencehausen. During Pat’s marriage to Harold, their daughter, Kathleen (Kathy Palmer)

Rencehausen, was born.

Shortly after their marriage, Pat and Harold moved to northern California. They then moved to western

Washington and in 1974 Pat and Harold moved back to Kamiah. Pat and Harold divorced, but Pat

continued to live in Kamiah until relocating to an assisted living facility in Lewiston in 2018 where she

lived out her remaining years.

Pat was a talented artist and created many beautiful drawings. In her later years, she took up making

greeting cards and her creations were greatly admired and appreciated by family and friends alike. Pat

had a great sense of humor and was very generous with her time and resources. She was active in her

church and had a close relationship and enduring faith in her Heavenly Father.

She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Palmer of Grangeville, ID, her son, Preston Rencehausen of

Litchfield Park, AZ, her sisters: Robin Allen of Lewiston, ID, and Rita Norton of Missoula, MT.

Additionally, she had 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Two sisters, Cathy Skiles of Orofino,

ID, and Sharon Marcell, of Orofino, ID preceded her in death.

Services will be conducted at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints chapel in Kamiah. She will

be laid to rest in the Kamiah cemetery.
