Dona Darlene Jones, 80 of Kamiah passed away Sunday May 13, 2018 at her Kamiah home.
Dona was born September 13, 1937 in Oakland, California to William and Lois McAllister Youngblood.
She graduated from High School in Atascadero, California.
On March 13, 1980 she married Robert Jones, a logger she met while living in Big Bar, California. With
Dona's and Robert's love of the outdoors, they were the perfect match. They traveled together all over
the western United States hunting and fishing. The last two years, Dona and Robert traveled to the
Missouri Breaks and would listen and watch the Bulls Bugle and defend their herds.
Dona loved the fall colors. When she wasn't canning or gardening she would sew, quilt, or paint beautiful works of art.
Dona worked at Community Action for a few years and then at the Kamiah Clinic until June 2015.
She was a devout member of Freedom Bible Church and taught Sunday School.
Dona was preceded in death by her parents, two daughters, Colleen and Kathy and two brothers Gary and Brian.
She is survived by her husband Robert, a daughter Dawn Jean (Ron) Ruszcyk, a son Patrick Thurlby, two sisters Debra Eckhardt and Valerie Shankard, sister-in-law Renee Youngblood, four step-children and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
At her request no services will be planned.
