Dale Gean Weeks was born to Kenneth Weeks and Onah (Massey) Weeks on January 1st,
1958 at Syringa General Hospital in Grangeville. He attended high school in Grangeville and
Kooskia. After high school he enlisted in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1976.
He attended Lewis Clark State College for auto mechanics.
On July 2, 1977, Dale married his soul mate, Connie Akin. Together, they raised two sons,
Wesley and Wade. Initially, he operated a shop out of a house in Kooskia but quickly learned he
could not provide for his family there. They moved to Lewiston in 1981 and Dale began working
for Forest Auto Parts. Through this experience, Dale fell in love with the towing industry and
resolved to go into business for himself. On November 17th, 1983, he established Dale's
Rescue Towing in Grangeville. The first shop was in an old chicken coop and Dale built most of
his wreckers himself. Proud to always be both owner and operator, Dale worked tirelessly to
build his business and provide for his family. For him, every wrecker call was a new experience
and a chance to meet new people. Dale was always willing to help someone out or give them a
second chance. He will be missed by family and friends who knew him for decades and by so
many who only met him for minutes. For over 30 years, he donated cars to the Animal Ark and
provided cars to local EMS groups for extrication classes and for sober graduation:
In the last two years, Dale had purchased two new tow trucks. He was so excited and proud to
bring his latest truck home as he'd added his sons to the business logo on the side.
On October 16, 2018, Dale joined his mom and his dad and numerous friends. He is survived
and missed by his wife, Connie, his son Wesley Weeks of Grangeville, his grandson Timothy
Weeks of Kuna, his son Wade Weeks and his wife Tiffany of Hayden, his granddaughter
Madeline, his brother James Weeks and his partner Dot of White Bird, his aunts Mary Massey
and Irene Smith, numerous cousins and countless friends.
Services will be held Friday, October 26th at 2pm at Trenary Funeral Home in Kooskia. There will be a
potluck following the services at Kooskia City Hall. Donations in Dale's memory can be made to
the Grangeville Animal Ark and Grangeville EMT Association.
Rest easy, Dale - we will drag the chains from here.
