Carl Ernie (Grizz) Yost, 77
A gentle giant of a man went to heaven March 17th, 2022 in his home in Clearwater, Idaho, with his family by side.
Ernie was the baby of eight children. He was raised on a dairy farm by his parents Herbert and Lou Etta Yost. He was preceded to Heaven by his parents and six brothers and sister.
His brothers were involved in construction and he began learning all facets of the construction trade at an early age. He attended Modesto Jr. College, then went on to Cal Poly at Pamona, California on a football scholarship. He was part of a fraternity and took business skills. He returned to construction and with his vast construction and business skills, he \became the head Utility Craftsman for the Clearwater Fish Hatchery at Ahsahka, Idaho. He and his wife Valeria and their family resided there for 18 years.
He retired to his home at Clearwater, Idaho in 2009 with his wife Valeria, and in 2021, they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with family and friends.
He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, going mushrooming, and buckskinning. He shared all his adventures with his best friend and wife Valeria, by his side.
Ernie is survived by his wife Valeria, and 2 children.
Son Jared and his wife Amy, and children Eliza and Quinn.
Daughter Shawntel, husband Tim, and children Serenity, Jessie, and Tannim. Great-Granddaughter Zelda. Ernie was preceded up to Heaven by granddaughter Morgan.
He was Uncle top a big bunch of nieces and nephews, whom he loved dearly. He also had love to share with those who called him Dad, mentor and best friend.
There will be a service at the Clearwater Cemetery, Clearwater, Idaho.
