Candace O’Hare

November 8, 1952 — April 19, 2019

Candace Joanne Shumate O'Hare "Candy" 66, of Syringa passed away Friday April 19, 2019 at her home after battling COPD.

Candy was born November 8, 1952 in Hendersonville, North Carolina to Robert and Joan Caldwell Shumate. Candy's father was in the Navy and like many military families she was able to see a lot of the country and went to 11 different schools in 12 years. With all the traveling and moving she was able to figure out what she liked and where she wanted to retire one day.

After High School she made her way west and settled in Alpine, Oregon. While working at a plywood production plant she met Pat O'Hare. They were both adventuress and loved the outdoors. It wasn't long and they were married.

In 2000 they moved to Syringa, Idaho. Candy loved spending time on the river, collecting rocks, reading and hiking the trails. Candy worked at the Wilderness Inn as a maid and helped Pat at the restaurant when needed. She was always a hard worker.

Candy was a Loving wife, mom, and friend. She is loved and will be missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers Collin and Kevin.

Candy is survived by her husband Pat O'hare, two sons Cameron O'Hare & Jason O'Hare; a daughter Angie Rosenstiel; grandchildren Madeleine, Hayden, Carter, Briana, Ashley, Penelope, Cody, Rian, and Bailey; siblings Catherine Shumate, Kim Shumate and Karen Nowlin.

We will be Celebrate her Life 1:00 P.M., Wednesday April 24, 2019 at Trenary Funeral Home Chapel in Kooskia. Condolences may be left at www.trenaryfuneralhome.com
