It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Alvin Herle Ledeboer, a beloved husband, father, son, and pillar of his community. He left the world on June 14, 2024, in Kamiah, ID with Charlene, his loving wife of 57 years by his side.
Alvin entered this world on July 11, 1937, in Prinsburg, MN, to Albert and Clara (Zuidema) Ledeboer. He spent his formative years attending Central Minnesota Christian School, instilling in him a strong work ethic and a deep connection to his faith. Alvin went on to serve his country in the army for the next 3 years.
Alvin joined in holy matrimony with his beloved wife Charlene in Harrison, SD on July 29, 1966. They raised two sons, Shawn and Trent. Together, they embarked on a journey filled with love and devotion.
For about much of his life, he tended to the family farm near Prinsburg, MN nurturing both livestock and grains. In his peaceful retirement years, Alvin relocated to Kamiah, ID, to be closer to his dear family, finding solace and enjoying many road trips in the serene beauty of the mountains.
A man of many talents, Alvin possessed a beautiful singing voice that lifted the spirits of all who heard it. His voice was so lovely and strong he could sing over the loud tractor, which unknown to him, blessed all the neighbors. Alvin was a very devoted Christian; with the hope and prayer his children and grandchildren will also love the Lord. His commitment to his church and community leadership roles showcased his profound sense of service and dedication to making a positive impact on the world around him. Alvin's generosity knew no bounds, as he selflessly volunteered his time to assist those in need during times of disaster and hardships across the country.
Alvin will forever be remembered by his adoring wife Charlene Ledeboer, his sons Shawn and Trent (Heather) Ledeboer, his cherished sisters Harriet (Robert) Hasper and Connie (Daryl) Berghuis, and his grandchildren Ethan, Hunter, Ashlyn, Quinten, and Tanner. As well as many nieces and nephews whom he held dear. As Alvin's legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew him, his memory will be carried forward with love and gratitude.
Alvin will be reunited in heaven with his infant grandson Sawyer, his sisters Luella (Melvin) Swart, Beatrice (Vern) Kleinhuizen, Jean Peters; and his brother-in-law Floyd Scholten.
While our hearts grieve his loss, we take solace in the knowledge that Alvin has found peace in the arms of eternity with our heavenly Father.
