Aileen Ruddick

Aileen Ruddick closed the circle of life at her Kamiah, Idaho home surrounded by family, April 23, 2016 after a prolong illness.

Aileen was born July 6, 1929 at home (delivered by her great uncle Doc Hathaway) in Graham, Oklahoma to Lawrence and Alice (Lowery) Hathaway. She lived in Healdton, OK , moving to Sunray, TX when she was 16. She moved to Smackover, Arkansas and graduated from High School there. She married Bob Gordy in 1947. Aileen and Bob lived in various town in the Texas panhandle where he was employed by road construction, settling in Pampa, Texas in 1950. She enrolled and graduated from Draughon Business School in 1972 and was employed as an accountant in Pampa, Texas.

Aileen married Austin Ruddick in 1972. Together they researched ancestors for both families. They visited cemeteries and researched birth and death records long before Ancestry.com. Their searches took them many places, even Europe. They moved to Mountain Grove, Missouri in 1986. After Austin's passing in 2002, Aileen moved first to White Deer, Texas and then Kamiah, Idaho in 2010.

Aileen is survived by 3 children; Bruce Ann Gordy of Kamiah, Idaho, Mona Gordy of Mobeetie, Texas and Richard Gordy; grandchildren, Kerri (Henry) Edgar of Dundalk, Maryland, Chelly (Mike) Helms of White Deer, Texas, Michael Gordy, Panhandle, Texas, Bob (Amy) Wilcox of Kamiah, Idaho, Clay (Karen) Gordy of Corsicana, Texas and Katy Gordy; 11 great grandchildren and 1 great great grand daughter and her childhood friend who was as close as a sister, Cleo Johnson of Denver City, Texas.

Memorial Services were held Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at Trenary Funeral Home Chapel in Kooskia, Idaho. A meal and fellowship followed at Pine Ridge Baptist Church in Kamiah, Idaho. Burial will be in Rose Mount Cemetery in Texas. She will be missed by all and we are comforted to know that she is now with her heavenly family. She was our sunshine.
